Product Review: Kanebo Kate Cheek Color in OR-1

After Majolica Majorca, there is another blush that made me realize how nice Japanese-manufactured blushes are, and that is Kanebo Kate Cheek Color in OR-1. I received this blush from a dear sister and I am super thankful for it as I have been lemming for a blush from this brand since I don't know when. So after using it a few times, time to give it a review.

The blush up close.

This isn't a true orange color. It is more of a lovely peach shade with a hint of orange that has subtle shimmer.

It comes with a cute little blush brush that somewhat resembles a baby kabuki.

What I like:
- Finely milled, texture is really nice, feels a little silky.
- Applies smoothly.
- Doesn't have over the top shimmers. Just right to give a sheen and glow.
- I like that it comes with a highlighter and when you blend the two colors together, you get a pretty peach-pink shade that looks kinda pearl-ized.
- It's hard to overdo this blush. One or two swipes is/are enough for one cheek.
- Staying power is okay. Lasts for 2-3 hours on my oily skin and I don't use primers. Some last for only an hour.
- The brush that comes along with it is super soft and not in any way scratchy. Plus it's cute.
- Locally available for PHP750 at Kanebo counters, which is actually cheap since Kate is the drugstore brand of Kanebo.

What I don't like:
- A bit chalky. After a couple of swipes, you'll see powders all over the compact. Product gets wasted.

Will I buy again? Yes. I want the pink and red one.
Overall rating: 4.5/5

Tip: To get this at a cheaper price, wait for Lux Asia sales. ;)

Product Review: Shiseido Majolica Majorca Blushes

These are the blushes I've been alternately using for weeks now and it's about time I give these babies a review. There are only 4 shades of blushes and I only have 3 and the other one I got is a highlighter.

88, OR322, PK333, RD255

Lovely, aren't they? :P

Let's start with the individual description.

RD255
This is far from being red. It is pink-peach with a hint of red and has shimmers. It is very NARS Deep Throat-ish and somewhat Orgasm-ish.

PK333
I would describe this as a very feminine mid-tone pink with almost no shimmers but gives an iridescent glow once on the cheeks.

OR322
This isn't pure orange. I find it peachy coral with a little orange in it. Just like PK333, this isn't shimmery but also gives an iridescent glow. It reminds me of a tamer version of NARS Torrid once applied.

88
This is the highlighter that looks somewhat lavender with very fine shimmers. Aside from the shimmers, it has chunky glitters which somewhat reminds me of NARS Super orgasm and Angelika's glitters. I am kinda disappointed with the glitter though.

Overall Review of the blushes.

What I like:
- Finely milled and texture is amazing.
- Applies smoothly.
- It's hard to overdo it, just don't be blush-happy. Wait for it to blend with your skin.
- Color payoff is good, you only need a swipe or two for the color to show on your skin.
- Pretty decent lasting power even on my oily skin.
- Unscented.
- Packaging is pretty. Reminds me of Shu Uemura, only nicer.
- I like that there isn't much selection on the shades as it'll help me stick to my budget.
- Cheap. Hey, this is still Shiseido even though it is their drugstore brand.

What I don't like:
- Not locally available.

Will I buy again? Yes, when I use these all up, which will eventually take me years to do so.
Overall rating: 4.75/5 I would've given it a 5 if these were locally available.

The highlighter is a different story though. I must say I am quite disappointed as I don't want highlighters to have chunky glitters. I can't give it a review yet as I have only used it twice.

Majolica Majorca Blush Love! :P

Good morning! Been MIA for almost a month, I got a little busy with work. Anyway, I'm back with 2 pretty blushes from Shiseido Majolica Majorca. I got these through a pre-order from a Cake sister. I ordered only 2 shades - RD255 and PK333. They are both absolutely pretty! Plus they are cheap. I got both for only PHP990! Ain't that a great deal? Lookie! :P

PK333
(a very feminine pink with very subtle shimmer that is barely noticeable)

RD255
(not in any way red but rather NARS Deep Throat-ish)

Swatches
PK333 and RD255

Here's what cheered me up yesterday as I've been sick again for 3 days now. And a nice note from Smile. :P

I want the highlighter and the blush compact where I can put both shades. I'm contemplating on whether or not I should get them. :P

Ta-ta! :P
