Blushes: Japanese Brands - Shu Uemura, Shiseido Majolica Majorca, Kanebo Kate, La Pensee

Just like what I have mentioned before, I now like sheer blushes more than pigmented ones as it is hard to overdo and go wrong with them.  Back then, I would always go for pigmented blushes like NARS and MAC but I always have to apply them very carefully with a very light hand so as to not overdo them and end up looking clownish, which isn't good if I am on a rush. Well, I have to thank the Japanese brands for the big switch. Now I'd like to share the blushes that changed my mind about sheer ones.

Shu Uemura Glow On M Pink 30 blush - matte pink blush though there is a very slight hint of peach on this one. Very finely milled and texture is really smooth. Very buildable color and can go on with any makeup.

Shu Uemura Glow On P Pink 30 - a very cute pink blush with very fine shimmers though I would not really call it shimmery, I would rather call it sheen. This is the most pigmented among these blushes. Gives a nice pink flush to the cheeks.

Kanebo Kate Cheek Color OR-1 - although it is supposed to be orange, I find this to be a peachy coral shade that looks really lovely on the cheeks. This has very fine shimmers though not as shimmery as other blushes like NARS Orgasm. It has a lighter shade which can be used as a highlighter or you can mix both shades.

Shiseido Majolica Majorca Blush in PK333 - another matte pink blush with sheen. It also applies smoothly and kinda pigmented. Texture is also really nice.

Shiseido Majolica Majorca Blush in RD255 - although it is RD, which I suppose stands for red, I find this pink peach. It somewhat reminds me of NARS Orgasm and Deep Throat too. 

La Pensee pink blush - I really cannot find much information on this blush online except for one particular website. Although it is the cheapest among the 6, this one is also nice and the texture is also smooth and finely milled. The only difference is that it tends to look a little chalky when more than 2 layers are applied.

Overall, it is the texture that I really fell in love with. Plus the fact that they are sheer and the intensity of the color is easily buildable depending on your preference. They go on really smoothly and are really silky. I now miss the other 2 blushes I had - MM OR 322 which I gave to a friend and Shu Uemura Tranquil Pink. But then I am happy with these 6. I would definitely buy more blushes from these brands but not any time soon. :)

Blush: La Pensee Multi Face Color - Pink

Here's another addition to my Japanese blushes - La Pensee Multi Face Color in Pink. It's a pretty blush which reminds me of The Body Shop's waves thingie. Only difference is this is not shimmery, smaller, looks delicate, and pretty pink!



I love how this isn't shimmery at all but I still get that glow on my cheeks. It sort of reminds me of Shu Uemura Glow On M Pink 30. Color is sheer baby pink but you can add more color to make it more intense. Looks kinda chalky upon application but after a few minutes, it has blended well with the skin and the glow is there. I got this at a bargain on eBay for only PHP69 ($1.50). Nice deal, right? I Googled this brand but it seems like it's not as big as Shu, Kanebo, Shiseido, and Kose. But still, the quality is there. It goes on silky, I find it finely milled and texture is also great. My only beef about this product is the flimsy packaging. But for the price, I can't complain. :P

I am diggin' Japanese brands! I don't think it's impossible for me to make a 360 degree turn and turn my back on Western brands for Japanese brands. I used to like pigmented blushes but now, I like 'em sheer.
