Product Review: Wet 'n' Wild Mega Eyes Creme Eye Liner in Black

I love it when I find an inexpensive product that delivers (yeah, it's the cheapskate in me) but since I've been on a high end kick lately, I have forgotten about reviewing this product. I have to be honest when I say I wasn't that eager to try this product because I'm so far satisfied with yet another drugstore product which is the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner. And even though I have not used it much lately since I'm too lazy to apply eyeliner, it still remains a favorite. After reading several reviews about it, I gave in and purchased one for myself, together with what was supposed to be a gift for Chel but my nieces and nephews found it, played with it, and eventually ruined it. :( I have only used it a couple of times but there was something about it that made me realize I have to give it a review right away.

This liner is in a weird UFO-like packaging. I am honestly not digging it. But with a little over a hundred bucks (less than $3), who am I to complain, right?

I was like "What the heck" when I first opened it and saw the black thingies (see picture below) and thought it was not appealing at all. I initially thought it was also liner but it wasn't. And when I searched for further reviews, all the pots have that black thingie. But then I purchased it for the product and not for the packaging so I just shrugged it off. Now when I first tried it using the flimsy brush included which I deemed useless and crappy, I was able to create a very thick line that screamed "I have gel liner on my eyes!" so I tried using a different liner brush which is thinner and it worked. But my initial impression of the liner was that it wasn't creamy as I hoped it would be. Maybe I got a bad apple but I'll never really know if I did. For some reason, I found it to be clumpy and I dunno why it did that even though I used a clean brush. It didn't apply smoothly and felt a bit dry. Even my Maybelline gel liner which I've had since May 2010 was creamier than this one. You can just imagine how glad I was when I finally managed to create a thin line that wasn't clumpy. Truth be told, the only thing about it that impressed me is that it didn't smudge and stayed for hours even though it was kinda humid that day. But that's it. I really wanted to like this product but I just can't bring myself to claim that I like it. I really don't. It was an utmost disappointment for me. I have used it only twice and for the love of me, it's already dry. I will try to salvage it by adding a few drops of eye drops on it which I have read in a forum but really, I'd rather add a few hundreds and get a product that won't dry on me after just two uses and won't be needing salvaging soon. I've had this for less than a month and I now need to save it and that is not funny at all. I guess you can now really tell how much I dislike this product. I know a lot of bloggers out there love it but I really can't imagine myself feeling that way about this product. That being said, I do not, in any way or by any circumstance, see myself repurchasing this product. I am very unhappy and disappointed with it.

Have you tried this product?

And oh, I would like to thank these lovely ladies - Sugar, My-My and Shaimaa for giving me the Stylish Blogger Award and to Nadine for the Versatile Blogger Award. I really appreciate it, girls. And please do check out their blogs, they're awesome.

And here are the seven boring facts about me :P :

1. I am allergic to nuts, cinnamon, seafood, dust, and lace and I also have skin asthma. To cut it short, I have maarte skin. Haha!

2. I love action, suspense, thriller, gory slasher flicks and comedy when it comes to movies.

3. I love Indian and Persian cuisine or anything spicy in as much as I love Italian and Mexican and American (like burgers and fries and philly cheese steak) cuisine. I would love to try Greek though.

4. I don't eat Kare-Kare. Veggies and peanut butter just don't make sense to me. Plus I am allergic to nuts too.

5. My right eye is smaller than my left eye because when I had Bell's Palsy last summer of 2008, it was badly affected when the right side of my face was paralyzed for a while. I also
have a  not so good eyesight yet I don't wear glasses. If I'm ordering at McDonald's, I can't read what's on the menu at the counter.

6.I hate the sun that's why I am not a beach person. I tan in as quick as 5 minutes but it takes years for my skin color to become lighter again. I'd rather go somewhere cold. And I blame the old school movie JAWS for making me scared of beaches. :P

7. I still love watching WWE even though I already know it's just acting on most parts. I've always had this huge crush on Shawn Michaels. :P I remember believing that Ultimate Warrior died when Andre the Giant landed on top of him. Haha!

I told you.... B-O-R-I-N-G! Haha! :P I'm giving these awards to everyone in the blogsphere who take a moment out of their busy lives blogging and sharing stuff to rest of the world.

Happy Wednesday againm super awesome peeps! :P

Green with Envy

Last week, I received my eBay purchases and one of those items is the Wet 'n' Wild ColorIcon Eye Shadow Single in Envy. It's a gorgeous shade of green that has really caught my eye. I finally had the time to play with it and I did some sort of an FOTD using this gem.

This is seriously pigmented. My finger was able to get that amount of color with just one light swipe. The texture is really smooth and somewhat buttery and to cut things short, this shade is simply gorgeous! I'm not sure if this is moss or forest green but this is by far the loveliest shade of green I have ever seen in an eyeshadow.

Swatch

It was the only eyeshadow I used on my lids. The color somewhat changes under different lighting. Or it's just me again?

My half FOTD wearing Envy.

What I used:
- Alba Botanica Rainforest Hydrating Moisturizer
- Shu Uemura Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation
- MAC Studio Finish Concealer
- Mario Badescu Special Healing Powder
- Revlon Brow Fantasy in Brunette
- Wet 'n' Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Single in Envy
- Wet 'n' Wild Creme Eyeliner in Black
- Max Factor Lash Perfection Mascara
- NARS Laguna bronzer
- Kanebo Coffret D'or Blush in PK222
- Mentholatum Lip Ice Sheer Color
- Dior Addict High Color in Rose Orgasme/Joy Pink

So there's my Green with Envy FOTD. :)

Happy Thursday, super awesome peeps! :P

Mini eBay and online purchases

Here's the mini eBay and online purchases I made before this year ends. This will just be a super quick post since I am heading out and going to EDSA Shang as I need a new cleanser since my Superhero Soap has suddenly stopped working for me. Found out it's the culprit for my skin's bad condition. It all started from eating cookies with nuts (Yes, I am allergic to nuts) then spots suddenly started popping out on different parts of my face but I will go into that soon. I have my eyes set on this cleanser from Healthy Options. And no, I won't be buying anything other than that. I'm keeping my promise of not doing another mini haul or whatever. Going back, here are my online purchases.

From eBay.ph  - Wet 'n' Wild Ultimate Eyebrow Kit in Ash Brown, Wet 'n' Wild Coloricon single eyeshadow in Envy (such a gorgeous shade), NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Pink Cheek Glow, Tracy by Tracy Ellen EDP vial. I have yet to recieve a Max Factor Lash Perfection Mascara from a different seller though.

From Girltalk - goodies from strawberryswitchblade

The sample of Chanel Mat Lumiere Liquid Foundation in Clair 20 that Dianne got for me and other ladies since we wanted to try it first before buying. Oh no, I am on a foundation phase. Liquid to be exact.

Of course, another book. I have several books lined up and I guess I'll be on a nerd mode next month. A friend of mine said he didn't know I was such a nerd or a dork. Haha!

Anyway, that's all for now. It's raining and I gotta get there early so I can avoid the dreaded rush hour when going home.

Happy Thursday, super awesome peeps! :P

FOTD: Using Wet 'n' Wild ColorIcon 6-pc Eyeshadow Palette in Lust

The much-raved eyeshadow palette from Wet 'n' Wild is here! But I cannot justify spending Php499 (around $11 or so) on an eyeshadow palette from a drugstore brand because we all know how high the markup is. I was so intrigued by these 6-pc eyeshadow palettes that I was almost willing to shell out that money just to get my hands on one of them. Luckily, I checked out eBay yesterday and saw these being sold for only Php142.50 (on sale from Php150) by one of my favorite eBay.ph sellers, jnlink777. I got Lust which consists of different shades of purple and skipped on getting the other three because I wanted to test the texture and pigmentation as well as the overall performance before buying another palette. I was all smiles when I received the package this morning. And I was smiling even more when I was playing with it that I decided to do an FOTD using it.

I'm not very good at describing shades so I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. My favorite has to be the bluish-silver one at the bottom right corner of the palette.

These are pigmented and I only had to swipe my finger once to get enough pigment and produce these results. I really like how pigmented these are. I just don't like that these are a little powdery and chalky. On the eyes, that's a different story though. I think using a primer is a must as the matte colors (three on the left side of the palette) are patchy especially the two purple shades.

Swatches

On my eyes.

FOTD

Stuff I used:
- Celeteque Facial Moisturizer
- Shu Uemura Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation in 774
- MAC Studio Finish Concealer
- Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Powder
- Shiseido Supplist Poreless O00
- ELF Studio Line Eyebrow Kit
- Wet 'n' Wild Lust Palette
- Clinique Lash Power Mascara
- Shu Uemura Glow On M Pink 30
- Mentholatum Lip Ice Lemon
- Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Comedia

I find the quality of this palette satisfactory but I think there is still so much room for improvement. Although for the price, I really cannot complain. :)

Have you tried this palette?

Happy Saturday, super awesome peeps! :P

Product Review: Wet 'n' Wild Wildshine Lip Lacquer in 926 Flirtatious

While I've had this lippy for only a couple of days now, I was able to immediately put it to test. And I am excited to share with you guys another inexpensive but good product. Normally, I would wait for a few days to review a product but I developed this habit of immediately reviewing it once I get to test it and like it. But before my review, here are a few pictures of this lippy.

What I like:
- Creamy and glides like butter on my lips.
- Pigmented. One swipe and I can see the color on my lips.
- Texture is really smooth.
- Long lasting. A little goes a long way. I applied this last night and even after having dinner, I can still see color on my lips.
- The color is really pretty. Looks peach brown on the tube and upon application. But after a few minutes, it turns to a nice pink-brown shade with a hint of peach on my lips. That's probably how it reacts with my body chemistry but it's another MLBB for me. The color somehow reminds me of NYX RLS Frappucino but without the nasty scent.
- Moisturizing. I applied this the other night and I fell asleep without removing it. When I woke up, my lips felt so smooth, hydrated, and there's still pigment. The lines are less visible and my lips just felt great.
- It works like a tinted lip balm that is super pigmented.
- No shimmers or glitters. Gives a glossy finish that is just pretty.
- No annoying scent that makes me sneeze.
- Cheap. Got it on eBay for only PHP60 (around $1.50). I get value for money.

What I don't like:
- The slim tube is fine. It's just that the lipstick doesn't go all the way down into the tube and I have to very carefully remove or place the cap back on; otherwise, the lipstick that is exposed will get nicks and cuts and it doesn't look nice.

Overall rating: 4.5/5

Will I buy again? Maybe. Not sure if I will get a back up of this but I'd like to since this is one of the most moisturizing lipsticks I've ever had. I hope it becomes available at Wet 'n' Wild, Watson's in Megamall.

Bright Red Lips + Uh oh. I think I'm on a "lipstick" phase

After my blush and mascara phases, I think I am now on a lipstick phase. Back then, I'd always check out blushes when I go to the mall and even on eBay. But now, I always check out lippies. So I guess I'm over my blush phase. The same goes for my mascara phase early this year. I like how lippies can transform one's look from the sweet girl next door to a sexy and sultry siren. Although the sexy and sultry siren isn't the case for me (:-P). Anyway, here are the 3 lippies I bought over the weekend.

L-R: Bourjois Docteur Glamour Lipstick in 14 Rose Toubib, Clinique Long Last Lipstick in 97 Party Red, Wet 'n' Wild Wildshine Lip Lacquer in 926 Flirtatious.

Swatches

I received them all at the same time yesterday and it made my day. I originally bought Rose Tendre but received Rose Toubib instead. I'm glad though because it is really pretty. There was some sort of mismatch because on the box it says Rose Tendre so I informed the seller about it. But I later on decided to get Rose Tendre too, which I will have next week. :P So tell me, do you also agree when I say I think I am on a lipstick phase? :D

What I also had for lunch yesterday.

And here's moi using Clinique Party Red lipstick.

My mom said she thought I looked like a pimp. Said warm reds work better for me. Guess what? She can pull off this shade and it looks really good on her. I guess she just wanted the lipstick after all. Haha! Anyway, I might give it to her and buy the Maybelline one I saw at the mall. It's red-pink and I thought it might work for me.

Will review the other lippies soon. :P Happy Wednesday! :)
