Makeup Storage 2013

If you're on my contacts or friends list on Facebook, you will see my post regarding an acrylic organizer/drawer I got from Multiply. Anyway, I decided to use an acrylic drawer to store my makeup instead and let "Sparky" the train case rest for a while after 2 long years of use. I thought it might be more convenient to use especially when I am in a hurry and I need to primp myself. So without any flurry, here are pictures of my new makeup storage.

The acrylic organizer/drawer houses most of my makeup.

I like how you can separate the top portion from the rest of the drawers.

I put my foundations, a few samples, lipsticks, concealer, a couple of blushes and tinted lip balms on the top most portion.

What's stored on the two small drawers on the first layer.

On the second layer drawer...

And on the third.

Now the small wooden box with a clear window and a drawer partition is where I store those that I rarely use or no longer fit in the drawers. I got the box and a pack of drawer partition from Japan Home Center for Php 88 each. Then the small acrylic desk holder that I got almost 4 years ago from Saizen holds my makeup removers, setting mist/spray, wand concealer, and compact foundation.

There/ Now I like how more organized it is and I no longer need to bring out my train case and open it every single time I apply my makeup. Now, it just houses the boxes of all my makeup. Yes, I like keeping their boxes and used to store everything inside their boxes. Anyway, I hope you find this organization/storage nice.

Have a fabulous weekend, super awesome peeps! :)

Cheers,

Updated Makeup Stash

Hello everyone. As some of you know by now, I have been doing a lot of de-stashing since early this year and I am mighty proud of myself for letting go of items that I no longer get to use and not holding on to them simply because I think I can use them again someday. In the process, I have come to realize which among the products I have I deem as keepers and which ones I really use. There you go. That's all the makeup you'll find in Sparky (my traincase) and that's how I am able to show each product a little lovin' lately. And my new rule in makeup:

Go for quality over quantity. Be a minimalist.

I'll go for the products that I have proven to work fantastic on me than have tons which would include some items that I would not get to use at all. See, I used to think that the more makeup I have, the better it'll be for me if I want to continue being a beauty blogger. But as time goes by, I think I have come to realize that no, I don't have to have a huge collection of makeup and I need to be practical. If I find that a product isn't good for me, I have to let it go and who knows, the person who will adopt it can make that product work for her, instead of keeping it, waiting for the right time to use it, and before I know it, it has already croaked. I get to appreciate every single piece that I have and slowly, my lemming for new makeups is easier to control.

I also know that sometimes, it's not just about the quality; it's how you make a product work for you. But there are really some products that'll never work no matter how hard or how much you try. That is basically the risk we take when buying products, right? We are all armed with the hope of that product working wonderfully on us. So when it's already hopeless after several attempts to make it work, move on.

One more thing - I know that I'm aiming for products with really good quality but it does not mean they have to be from high end brands. There are gems in drugstore and mid-range brands. And as long as I am spending within my means for those quality products, then I am good.

I am not getting all preachy here but I only wanted to share how I was able to settle for the good ones and how I did not hold on to those I have let go of. I do encourage you to figure out which products work for you and are worth keeping and to let go of those you don't get to use often, either by giving them away or by selling them. You'll be able to hit pan on one of your blushes before you know it and it is pretty exciting because that means it's time for you to buy a new one! Kidding! But seriously, I am about to hit pan on my Kanebo Coffret D'Or blush as I have made a huge dent on it. I am pretty excited, really! Well, I still buy, of course, but I need to make sure that I am not breaking my pact of letting go of something to make room for that new purchase. :)

I hope this post can help you in a way. :)

Happy Monday, everyone. :)

Cheers,

Tag: Updated Makeup Collection

I love seeing other people's makeup collection. Shallow as it may sound, I find looking at makeup therapeutic. Anyway, this is a loooong overdue tag from Joice and I finally had the time to take pictures of my mini makeup collection. I have been doing a lot of de-stashing and downsizing because I want to narrow down all my makeup to only those that I really really use and I'm proud to say that I have succeeded so here are pictures.

Meet Sparky (train case) and Soapy (cosmetics pouch)

Sparky is where I put all my makeups. I had to put stickers to make Sparky a little more feminine.

Concealers, lip balms, mascara

Eyeshadow, eyebrow kit, lip balm

Lipsticks and lipglosses

Liners, mascaras, MAC studio fix

Blushes, foundations, a couple of eyeshadows, lip balms and lipgloss (Can you tell I love lip balms?)

Sparky wide open :D

And Soapy is where I put all my brushes and other tools.

Sponges are in the pocket.

So there's my humble mini makeup collection and I am happy to say that I am able to show everyone of them lotsa love. :)

Happy Wednesday, super awesome peeps. :)

I think I had too much... So I let go...

Have you ever felt that you've just had too much and you simply have to let go?

That's how I felt with my blushes and I felt the need to let some of them go. I realized that I have more than what I really need when I reach for the same blushes almost every day. I have disregarded most of them so I just have to find them new mommies who will love and use them more that I do.

These are some of the blushes I had last year.

The blushes on the photo are incomplete as I have added a few more after I took this shot and my blushes reached 50. If you read my previous posts, you'll know which blushes were added on my stash. It was not later that I realized I cannot use all of these as I only have one face and I have no more than 2 cheeks. I remember one guy friend telling me to use these blushes all at the same time when we go out when he saw that photo. :P

It wasn't a short process when I downsized my blush collection to half of it. These are what's left of my blushes. 3 blushes not included on the photo as my mom borrowed 'em. Lookie!

Top Row: ELF Studio Golden Bronzer (which I also use as a highlighter), ELF Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder, Almay Cinder Red, 4U2 Magic Blush Quad, Shawill Blush 05

2nd Row: Milani Glimmer Stripes Terra Glimmer, Milani Glimmer Stripes Berry Glimmer, Benefit Coralista, Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Mosaic Blush in Afterglow, T. Le Clerc Brun Rose

3rd Row: Chanel Joues Contraste in Tea Rose, Chanel Irreelle Blush in In Love, NARS Taos, NARS Deep Throat, NARS Orgasm, NARS Lokoum

Last Row: NARS Torrid in In2It Compact, NYX Cream Blush in Glow, NYX Mosaic Blush in Paradise, MAC Mineralize Blush Grand Duo in Intenso, Rimmel Apricot, Rimmel Berry, Rimmel Sienna

I am mighty proud of myself for being able to let go of those blushes. I may have had a bit of seller's remorse when I let go of NARS Crazed and MAC BPB Joyous but then I gotta do what I gotta do. :P

Happy Sunday, everyone! :P

Organized Make Up

I finally managed to organize my make up stash. They can no longer fit in the one tool box that I used as a make up box so I had to use three separate storage boxes for all. This made me realize that I've acquired a lot over the past couple of months so I will be doing a blog sale soon. :P

The three make up boxes

Lippies, foundation, concealers, mascaras, eyeyeliners, etc.

Brushes and eyelash curler

Now this may seem a bit odd because the tin box is a Barbie product. I guess my childish side won over the older side of me. It caught my eye because it is not the usual cutesy pink Barbie stuff.

Well, it still is cute but not overly girly. :P

And the other blushes that won't fit inside Barbie. :)

And I can't help but take pictures of the blushes. Incomplete though. :P

FS Silky Coral and Chanel In Love not in the picture. :(

I hope you are all having a great weekend so far, ladies! Ta! :P
