Un-freakin-believable!

I was checking my emails a few minutes ago and I cannot believe my eyes when I saw an email from a person I do not know. Let's just call this person "UNSUB" (unknown subject) since I love Criminal Minds. The email was outrageous and really had me raise an eyebrow and seriously made my jaw drop. I was really contemplating on whether or not I should post about it but then I really want to answer that email and raise a few points as well. I just took screenshots of my mailbox so I can show you exactly what's in the mail. Just click on the pictures to enlarge them.

I had to blur the other emails for privacy. Excerpts from the email underlined and in bold and my response in bold and red.

"I CAME ACROSS YOUR BLOG WHEN I WAS LOOKING FOR REVIEWS FOR CERTAIN MAKEUPS. i CAOULDN'T HELP MYSELF BY SENDING YOU AN EMAIL BECAUSE I THINK YOU ARE ONE STUPID BITHC JUST LIKE ALL BEAUTY BLOGGERS."

- First of all, thank you for dropping by my blog. Back on topic - beauty bloggers are not stupid. It takes a lot of time to come up with just a single post and anything on that post has to be well thought of. Therefore, beauty bloggers utilize their pretty brains to think. And STUPID is a mean word. I firmly believe that this is a tight knit community full of beautiful people who only see the beauty in another person. I think you did not actually take the time reading all the blogs you have visited because if you have, you will, at one point or another see that our world do not revolve around makeup alone.

"TO BE HONEST I WANTED TO NOT THINK OF YOU AS A STUPID PERSON BECAUYSE YOU WRITE WELL AND IT SEEM LIKE YOU ARE EDUCATED BECAUSE YOU ALMOST HAVE PERFECT GRAMMAR. BUT AFTER READING ALL YOUR BLOGS, I NOW THINK YOU ARE JUST SHALLOW JUST LIKE OTHER BLOGGERS, BRAGGING ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY THEY WASTE ON MAKEUP, EXPENSIVE ONES. REALLY WHAT GOOD DO YOU GET FROM FLAUNTING THOSE BRANDED MAKEUPS YOU HAVE AND EVEN COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW THEY DO NOT WORK FOR YOU? WASTING YOUR MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT YOU DON'T LIKE IS JUST STUPID."

- Wow, thanks for trying to not think of me as a stupid individual and for telling me that I write well. Compliment taken. :) Alright, I have never mentioned my income in any of my posts and so far, I have not encountered any blog telling people how much money they earn. In some cultures, talking about a person's income is taboo. I absolutely have no idea how much other beauty bloggers earn and it has never crossed my mind to disclose and share to the rest of the world my income so to simply assume that we waste a lot of money on makeup is not fair at all. And besides, not all beauty bloggers use high end makeups. You mentioned that you are looking for reviews of makeups and that means you most likely use makeup too. And if you do, that would mean you know that there are inexpensive makeup, both local and drugstore. Whether or not a person uses expensive or inexpensive makeup, that is a matter of personal preference. As they say, to each his own. While I and other bloggers are guilty of complaining about certain products, I only think it is completely natural for someone to complain about something that gave him/her bad effects at least once in his/her life. If you have NEVER, at any point complained about something, even as simple as how hot or cold the weather is, how bad the traffic is, I don't think you are human at all. Of course, you can just as easily rely on other people's reviews but then if something gave someone else a positive result, there is no guarantee that it will also work for you. That's why there are disclaimers on most, if not all, blogs. And the only way for you to know if a product will work for you or not is to try it out and see for yourself.

"THAT'S HOW I CAME TO THE ANALYSIS THAT YOU ARE A STUPID BITCH THAT IS ONE OF THE SUPERFICIAL AND VAIN STUPID PEOPLE ON THE WEB."

- Ouch! That hurts because I am guilty of being vain but only to a certain extent and most of all, that does not necessarily mean that's all there is to me. After all, vanity is my favorite sin. But that does not necessarily mean I am stupid. If I am as stupid as you think I am, I would probably be crying my eyes out for receiving this nasty email of yours and never ever be heard from in the blogsphere again. But no. I will continue what I am doing because I like it. I have met people who share the same passion and interests and really, beauty bloggers (and other bloggers in general) are seriously a bunch of people that are beautiful both on the outside and inside.

"DON'T YOU HAVE OTHER THINGS TO DO IN LIFE AND IS THIS ACTUALLY WHAT YOUR PARENTS RAISED YOU FOR? I SOUND MEAN BUT SOMEONE HAS TO SHED LIGHT ON YOU AND TELL YOU TO STOP THIS STUPIDITY WHILE YOU STILL CAN AND JUST WRITE ABOUT OTHER THINGS THAT CAN ACTUALLY BE OF USE TO THE WHOLE WORLD. WAKE UP CALL, BABY. SAYANG KA."

- No, my parents did not raise me up thinking that I will do beauty blogging as a profession. I do other things in life. I write things other than beauty-related stuff and that is what I do for a living. While I appreciate your "intent" to give me a wake up call, this kind of email is totally uncalled for and is outright rude and nasty. Well, product reviews from beauty bloggers are useful, yes! Especially to those who are starting out with makeup. What's wrong with wanting to look presentable? Check out MakeUpAlley where there are tons and tons of reviews that are useful to consumers.

I am wide awake, BABY! And please, if you have nothing nice to say to a person, might as well just zip it! Between the two of us, I think you are more sayang than I am because you actually call people stupid without knowing anything about them and more so, you took the time to send me a mean email. Happy holidays! :)

Whew! That was long. These are all I have to say to you, Mr./Ms. Stupidpeoplebuster!

First FOTD at 26! (I'm a year older again.)

An FOTD to welcome my 26th year of existence. :P

Alright, I'm not getting any younger. I turned 26 last Sunday and it was such a super awesome way to celebrate my being in the mid-20's by staying in bed the whole day. I was down with flu. :( Saturday night, I was on my way home with a friend after having dinner and we were both a little tipsy. We hit a small tree. And I have scoliosis so my back hurt a lot. Let's do a little backtrack.

I was about to go home Saturday afternoon after meeting a friend at Megamall. Had snacks at Wham! and coffee at Krispy Kreme then checked out Forever 21. I felt dizzy because it was super jampacked. I can't stay long in an enclosed space that is really crowded. After that, he dropped me off at EDSA Shang to take the MRT but I received an sms from another friend saying he'd treat me for dinner since it was almost my birthday. Thinking that it'll be easier than taking the MRT (it was rush hour and I already have fever that time), I agreed. He picked me up from EDSA Shang and went somewhere in Timog. After having dinner and a pitcher of zombie, we decided to go home. Alcohol took effect and we were both a little tipsy. While singing along with Afroman's Because I Got High (mind you, we weren't high, i just like the song a lot), his sense of direction was kinda clouded and sorta got lost. I have very poor sense of direction to begin with so I cannot drive. We didn't notice we were nearing the dead end and good thing is there was a small tree and we hit it instead. No one was majorly hurt except that he sort of hurt his shoulder and I strained my back when we suddenly went to a full stop. After realizing we were both okay, we decided to go home and the tipsy feeling was gone. We were suddenly sober.

Lesson learned 1: Never ever drink and drive. Or at least never let the one driving drink a lot. If there's someone who gets drunk, it shouldn't be the person sitting on the driver's seat.

When I woke up the following day, I have flu, cough, and cold. And it was my birthday! Realized that it's because I walked under the rain a few days back. They say that if that happens to you, you should immediately take a shower. I didn't because I just took a shower then went out to 711 and was on my way home when it rained. And our house is just one house away from 711. Until today, I'm still a little sick.

Lesson learned 2: Heed the elders' advice. Take some, if not most, of them seriously. You might not be able to cook and celebrate your birthday.

How I celebrated it? I took a walk down memory lane by watching movies in the 90's that I loved as a kid. I watched the following:
- 3 Ninjas
- 3 Ninjas Kick Back
- 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up
- 3 Ninjas High Noon at Mega Mountain (with Hulk Hogan)

I couldn't get enough of Tumtum, Colt, Rocky, and of course, the ninja grandpa who is like Mr. Miyagi. :P

I also watched Power Rangers the Movie! I like the Yellow Ranger a lot. :P

I just remembered what happened 2 weeks ago. I went to 711 to buy a pack of cancer sticks then the lady at the cashier asked how old I am and when I told her I'm 25 with a confused look on my face, she asked for an ID. I was thinking, "This isn't the first time I bought ciggies from you."
Anyway, that just made me laugh and it makes me smile just by remembering that.

Anyway, sorry for the long post about my birthday misadventures. And oh, I think I had another misfortune just now. I received these lippies in the mail this morning.

And now, one of them broke. It's the Bourjois Rose Tendre that broke. The lippie on the right. Gah! :(

Anyway, happy Tuesday! :P

Rant: Revlon Colorburst Lipstick

After having it for a month or so, I never thought this would also happen to my Revlon lippy. Some girls at GT complained about it being too creamy and it sort of melted in such a way that it sticks to one side, thus, ruining its shape and becoming messy. I thought I was lucky that it has not happened to mine but guess what? It did/ And I'm not happy about it. Good thing I have a lip brush but having to apply it that way every time I use this lippy will eat up time so I dunno. I might use this lipstick only on days that I'm not in a rush. Disappointing, yes. Changed my mind on getting another tube from this range. Look at the pictures to see what I'm talking, uh, ranting about. :(

Doesn't look like there's something wrong on the first photo, right?

Wait til you see these.

See what I mean? Disappointing. Too bad I like this lipstick. Oh well.

Happy weekend, everyone! :)

Did my review just got stolen?

For some reason, I encountered my review of the Marionnaud N32 Slanted Blush Brush on a site other than this one. I encountered it here.

And they did not even bother to contact me if they can "use" my review or something. If there is a live person behind that site, please remove that post. You copied every single word except for the picture. I took the time to write that review, not only for someone to use it without my knowledge. If they did contact me, it would've been fine. But that was sneaky and a form of stealing, IMO. If it's just a bot responsible for that, all I can say is "Jeez!".

I took screen shots just in case that post gets removed. At least I have proof.

Is there anyone who has encountered the same thing? :(

It's just annoying. Read more...

What African Black Soap did to my face and the Superhero Soap

Upon reading good reviews about the African Black Soap, I bought myself a trial size so I won't waste money if in case that product doesn't work for me. I guess I made a good decision of not buying a bigger one.

Lemme show you how the soap looks like again. It looks like poo to me.

Now I'll show you what happened to my skin after using the soap for barely 2 days. It's disgusting and frustrating.

That's by far the worst state my skin has ever been in. Now I'm really glad I purchased another bar of the derma soap that has been rescuing me from all those occasional break outs or whenever my skin is acting up.

It's cheap as it costs only 75 bucks. I've cut a portion of the soap and it was able to salvage my skin. The spots aren't completely gone but at least they are on their way to going Houdini!

Here's an update after using my superhero soap twice.

My skin looks better now. :P I only used In2It Oil Control Powder Foundation. You can still see some spots but they're no longer as bad as they were last night. I am happy! :P

And another reason to be happy. I received the free J&J miniature lotion this morning.

And a PO notice. I am assuming that in the package is the sample kit from SkinMD that I will be reviewing pretty soon.

My mom will pick it up tomorrow. I am excited. Plus I will receive my loots which means more make up for me! :P

Have a great week ahead, everyone! :)

Update- That's it! I'm done here!

Update at work. I know it's something I shouldn't be posting here and you guys might not be interested with what's going on at work. But anyway, I have to have some medium where I can say what I have in mind lately.

So I went to work last night and I tried to act normal as I could. When the boss got to the office, she greeted me. And right at that moment, I wanted so much to punch her in the nose for being plastic and pretentious. But of course, I want to have the last laugh so I controlled myself from doing that. But I guess I am really not as good as they are in acting because after just an hour of being there, it's getting obvious that I am not in a very good mood because I didn't wanna be there. I was seated right beside someone who is just as pretentious as the boss. And she's connived with that boss in backstabbing me. So the other girls were trying to make me feel better and telling me to just keep my cool and try to act normally as if I have no clue as to what they are doing.

Here's one more thing. How stupid do they think I am? I saw a girl (a stranger) sitted at the couch and she was there for an interview. The moment I saw her, I knew she will be interviewed for my post. That's what you call "harapang gaguhan". Do they really think I am that dumb to not know what they are doing? Someone told me that that girl is applying for my position. She saw 10 resumes and they are all applications for my post. She actually checked the resumes for me. I wanted to approach the applicant and ask her, "Do you know what you're getting yourself into?". Hehe. :P

Hours passed and I tried to get hold of my emotions but one thing really made me tell myself, "That's it! I'm done here!". We use voip and my phonebox is busted. It's been having problems since day 1. The BOSS (the owner of the company) was trying to fix it. And they found out that the phonebox belongs to the biatch boss. She goes to the room where the BOSS was right beside me since he was fixing it, tapped my shoulder and here's the flow of the conversation.

B**ch: Did you change the phonebox?
Me: No, it was already there when I got here.
B**ch: Did you know it was my phonebox?
Me: No. I just noticed that it was different and the lights were blue instead of yellow so I figured someone must've fixed it.
B**ch: Didn't I tell you to let me know everything about the phone problems?
Me: .....

(I was stunned. She just humiliated me in front of the BOSS.)

Then the person sitting next to me finally said that she's the one who switched the phonebox trying to fix my phone.

B**ch: Oh okay.

So where is the "Why didn't you tell me....blah blah blah yaddah yaddah yaddah" speech she gave me earlier? Beats the shit out of me.

The thing is when the shift just started, I rebooted my phonebox and I told the seatmate that the lights are now blue. And she said, "Maybe they fixed it."

SABOTAGE!!! It was a clear sabotage.

She could've told me she switched the phonebox when I initially told her about the lights, right?! And she chose not to. And she had to wait for a few minutes before telling the boss and the BOSS that she was the one who switched it. What the heck am I supposed to think about that.

That is my "That's it! I'm done here" moment.

I so wanted to hit them with the keyboard and throw the phonebox at them (the boss and the seatmate) but I know I shouldn't so I just went to the restroom and slammed the door. I made sure the seatmate heard it. I had to let my anger out so I just started crying. I super hate them! I don't deserve to be treated like crap. My parents didn't raise me up just to take shit from anyone. (OMG, just thinking about it makes me cry)
I stayed in the restroom sobbing for quite a long time. Because I had to let everything out.

When I got back to my desk, the three other girls added me on an msn conference where they all asked how I am at that time, and they tried to make me feel better. They knew everthing that's going on. One of them was even more upset than I am. They're all telling me I deserve better than that. And yes, I do deserve better than that. They knew my plan of resigning and are supportive about it. I was exchanging sms with the more-upset-than-I-am girl yesterday and she told me she was with her sister at that time who also got upset with what the boss is doing to me. They were telling me I don't have to take all that bullshit from them. And yes, I've had enough. And when I resign, I am definitely giving the boss a piece of my mind. Just because I have never defied her doesn't give her the license to treat me like I am some kind of an inferior creature.

Before going home, I spent an hour with the three girls. We talked about it and they made it clear to me that they are not happy with what's being done to me. The more-upset-than-I-am girl was really talking the whole time and it's funny how affected she is. I am really touched as to how they are supportive of me. And that they don't think the replacement can learn everything in a few weeks just by self-training (which is their training style) like I did. Not to be arrogant or what but they said even seatmate took 2 years to learn everything I learned in just 2 months. I'm better off with another company who will not treat me like shit. I am definitely going to miss them and the happy times.

The boss is such a liar. She told the more-upset-than-I-am girl that the openings are for an Admin Assitant and Purchasing Assistant posts yet on the 10 resumes, it clearly stated there that they are all applying for my post. What a liar!

Since the boss likes calling one's attention and sort of scolding them right in front of everyone as if to humiliate them (just like what she did to me), I am definitely going to let her know how it feels. I will certainly give her a piece ogf my mind. In front of everyone. And I'll make sure she won't be able to say a word when I'm done. Being a bitch is sometimes totally called for. She'll never know what hit her. Of course, it will still be work-related and I am going to target her professionalism and work ethics. No personal insults. Maybe there really is a good reason for this to happen. And maybe, just maybe, I was meant to work at that company for a reason. To teach that boss a lesson she and everyone else in the company won't forget. And that is to never ever treat your subordinates like shit because it will definitely get back to you.

PAYBACK IS A BITCH.

By the way, I have a couple of interviews next week. Just my luck. I hope I get hired. I am not going to include this company on my resume. I'd rather not talk about dirt and stuff.

Thank you for bearing with me.

P.S.

I love the rain but when it starts to flood, that's not cool. This is the first time i saw our street get flooded.

And to Thiamere and Gracie, so sorry I haven't shipped out your prizes. I've just been really stressed lately. Will ship it on Tuesday, promise.

Sneaky Little Devils

I am so fuckin' pissed right now. I thought I found the best people I've worked with. Well, I met two who really cared about me. I just found out that my boss was looking for someone to replace me because I always get sick. And they are doing it behind my back. C'mon! If they have a problem about it, why couldn't they just be upfront with me and tell me, "Hey, we have to let you go because you always get sick and we don't want sick people in the company." It'll be easier instead of doing a stupid connivance. I expect them to at least be professional about it, but heck NO! What do you call someone who acts behind your back and smile when you are with them? They are fuckin' stupid lying conniving bastards! I don't normally curse like this but this time, I am really fuckin' pissed. Can you believe they wanted me to go to work last Monday when I have sore eyes?! I went to work on Tuesday because they asked me to even though I still have sore eyes and when I got there, they wanted me to go home! I stayed. They're not even going to pay for my cab home! The other girl was so pissed because they are putting everyone else at risk. I have sore eyes, for goodness' sake! She told me to stay which I really intended to do that night. I wouldn't mind losing this job because seriously, the only reason why I still go to work are the new friends I found there. But the job itself? It's fucked up, really! I take calls, do sales, customer service, take care of backorder emails, respond to email queries, and take care of live chat too all at the same time. All at the freaking same time! I am no ubermensch! I can't believe I stayed there for 2 months. And I get sick all the time. I am stressed out. I've never been this sick before I started working at that company.

I rejected 3 offers from other companies just to stay with them and this company will just fuck wirth me?! The hell with them. I wish I can just give my resignation letter next week effective immediately and when I hand it to my boss, I'd tell her, "I am resigning today effective immediately. Here's my resignation letter and you can just shove it up your ass!". But I was advised by a friend I met there to just simply maintain my composure and surprise them with my resignation effective immediately and there will be no extensions. Those conniving bitches should eat my dust. Haha! Well, those two friends are really as upset as I am. And they still want me to come when they go out of town and I'll just be as normal as I can be since I will be there for them and not for the boss and her partner in crime.

Sorry ladies, I am not really like this and I don't talk trash but this time, it's really fucked up. They have been giving me nothing but rubbish! So on Monday, I am going to this company that called me yesterday asking if I am interested to work with them. And they can just shove their freakin' lingeries up their lily white asses! Those sneaky little devils.

A Filipina Fraudster

Last night, we were shocked to find out that there is a Filipina fraudster buying lingeries from us. The girl used someone else's credit card. The card owner called us and informed us that she had no knowledge of the purchase. We checked and it was placed under the cardholder's name but the shipping information is different. The cardholder lives in Virginia and the shipping address is in Caloocan. I had no idea how that order went through and got shipped. The second time that girl attempted to order lingeries from us, we placed the order on hold. Once again, the cardholder is from the US, New Mexico this time. We had this conclusion that this Filipina fraudster might be working at a call center here in Manila for her to gain such credit card information from Americans. Caroline Brisenio is giving Filipinos a bad name. Karma is just lurking around the corner, I hope she knows what she's getting herself into--- FRAUD. She can go to jail for that. She even supplied her complete address and phone number! She has no clue as to what can happen to her. Jeez! Read more...

Fake MAC HELLO KITTY Items on eBay.ph!!!!

I've been pissed at those sellers selling fake items on eBay.ph. And I will forever be pissed at them for claiming their items are AUTHENTIC! Fake MAC blushes being sold for PHP150-PHP200, is way better than this seller that sells FAKE MAC HELLO KITTY ITEMS FOR MORE THAN PHP1,000! For goodness' sake, that is just plain wrong! It's a CON! That seller has gone way overboard and disgusts me for trying to cheat people off their money.

Look here.

What the heck is shade 2?! This seller is unbelievable! I can't believe how gutsy he or she or whoever the heck that seller is. All I know is that this seller is one freakin' liar.

This seller must be really a HUGE fan of the Hello Kitty Collection that he/she/it doesn't know how many lipglass shades there are for the HK Collection! And doesn't even refer to the Blush as Beauty Powder. What a shame!

I hope somebody can kick this seller's ass and give an in-your-face proof that the HK items are far from being authentic and is nothing but a cheap-o FAKE!

nothing but rants

I've been unable to update my blog because I am still adjusting to my schedule. I am always tired and sleepy when I get home so no time for make up thingie. I am basically just going to rant again.

1. GLOBE sucks! I bought a P100 prepaid card and I subscribed to their unlimited texting feature which costs only 20 bucks. When I checked my balance the following morning, it is down to P57! Most of the people I text with are also Globe subcribers so how is it that I lost P23 overnight without texting people from other networks? This isn't the first time such an incident happened. It has been going on for months that I already lost track of how much money I lost. I complained twice already and they sent me the amount I complained for in 24 hours. But do I have to complain each time it happens? Why can't they do anything about it? I am not the only one who complains about it.My mom and friends experience that too and they are getting annoyed. Everytime that happens, I feel cheated on. It's like stealing. Globe, please improve on your service!

2. The weather is crazy! It rains then the following day, it is freaking hot. The next day, it rains again, then gets hot again the next day. I've been sick on and off for weeks now. I hope our weather makes up its mind as to what season we are in right now.

3. I will receive my first pay next month! One whole month of no pay yet. Argh!

4. Why are some men such horndogs? They ask you out for a date and expect intimacy from you after. I am not saying all men are like that. Maybe I've just been dating the wrong guys.

Please bear with me. ^_^

back to work

Yesterday was my first day/night at work. I had a not-so-good experience on the first day. The manager called and asked me to come in at 6pm instead of 9pm for the contract signing and there was also an increase on my basic pay so I was there before 6pm. The manager wasn't there. So I was given the contract and I was left to read it on my own and sign it which is fine. The manager came back from either Starbucks or CBTL at around 6:30pm and discussed a few things with me then later on told me to come back before 8pm since the person who will train me will come in at 8 or 9pm. By the way, I was the only one hired for the job. I had nothing to do for an hour and a half so I grabbed a quick dinner at McDonald's which is right across the building and was texting and calling people I know working in Ortigas but everyone was on their way home so I was stuck with myself. Then I came back before 8pm and she still wasn't there. I was asked to read about the company and then I had a stick or two at the balcony while talking to someone on my cellphone, at least to keep me company. She got there by 9pm and I thought they will make me come home by 6am. Good thing I was told I can go home by 3am. 3 hours were wasted doing basically nothing productive at all. I should've been asleep until 7pm but no, I had to leave by 5pm.

The work? Oh boy, I think I have seen lingeries and bras and panties and corsets enough to last me a lifetime! Did you guys know that there are 23 different kinds of bras?!!! When I was told about it, I was like, "You gotta be kidding me?!". But the products are nice and I actually like a few. I can avail of the 50% discount. But they are quite expensive, some reaching almost $80. But then here's abnother shocker for me. Some cup sizes reach 44H???!!! or maybe even higher?! When I saw those sizes, I couldn't help but look down on my chest and feel like my boobs are flat when I am beside those boobs. ^_^

Work again tonight. More bras to see. Read more...

Product Comparison: NARS Orgasm and ELF Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzer

I compared the ELF Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder to the NARS Orgasm/Laguna Duo. Though I never really have that duo, a lot of people are comparing both and saying that the ELF Studio duo is the cheaper version of the NARS duo in terms of price. So since I have NARS Orgasm, I decided to compare both blushes. I took some pictures and a few swatches.

NARS look smaller but it contains more product than both the ELF blush and bronzer combined. Orgasm has 4.5g of product while ELF has 4g. But it's not bad considering that there are 2 different products on ELF. Both look so preeety! ^_^

See the striking resemblance? Both look so similar except for the fact that NARS has more shimmer in it than ELF and ELF is a tad lighter than Orgasm. That is why I thought it looked more NARS Deepthroat-ish for me.

A couple of swatch shots:

Left- ELF
Right- NARS

I dunno if you can see it clearly at your end due to the poor quality of the photos but they pretty much look similar, only Orgasm is more shimmery.

So what's the verdict?

Both blushes have good quality. It's just that NARS has a better reputation than ELF. And the ELF Studio line is pretty new and has to prove itself yet when it comes to quality. It has a lot of catching up to do since their products have a pretty bad rep. ELF Glow is a little more similar to NARS O though the quality of the blush on their duo is waaay better than ELF Glow. Plus it lasts longer. NARS scored a few points over the ELF Studio blush when it comes to staying power. But when applied on the cheeks, you can barely tell the difference between O and the ELF blush. I had compliments when I'm wearing the ELF duo as well. The ELF blush may not be as finely milled as NARS but the quality of the blush is really good. It's a tie for me when it comes to pigmentation. Both are really pigmented and I have to use a light hand when I apply them to avoid having clown cheeks. Both compacts look very sleek. Only difference is that NARS is sort of rubberized and ELF isn't. The biggest factor and difference is the PRICE. NARS blushes sell at $25 (if I remember it right) whereas ELF sells the duo for $3, $1.50 when they are on sale. The only thing I don't like about the ELF duo is that the bronzer is kinda powdery. I just dab my brush on the bronzer and since it's a little powdery, product gets wasted.

It's hard to choose between the two and since it's difficult for me to decide which wins, I am just going to purchase both when I ran out of them. Isn't that a better solution? If you can't pick one, just get both. ^_^ Only the ELF Studio line is not yet available here in the Philippines but according to some girltalkers, some ELF counters carry Studio line products but those are limited and easily get out of stock. If you are on a budget and want a good quality blush/bronzer duo like NARS, you can get away with the ELF duo. But if you want something high end and you are a NARS loyalist and would like to spend your moolah, go get your NARS duo.

OT Rant: Weather's crazy! I wake up feeling hot and kinda humid in the morning but after noon, it rains and gets cold in the evening. Now I've been sick on and off again. The weather has gone nuts.

Another OT Rant:

Why is it so hard to quit smoking? Been puffing on cancer sticks for years now. I tried to quit when I was in and out of the ER due to asthma and yes, I can control myself from smoking for a few days but I somehow end up puffing again.

I am forever cursed to use Seretide which is an anti-asthma med.

Dunhill is just so suave and smooth. Oh, those aren't my fingers, those are my friend's.

And this is just a perfect combination. Argh! I can't have coffee without cancer sticks.

And this too? Sorry for the tissue eewie thingie on the table.

I know I can quit smoking. From more than one pack a day, it's now down to 3-5 sticks each day. An ex once asked me when I am going to quit smoking and I told him I will when I get pregnant. And he said he will get me and that freaked me out and hid from him for like 2 weeks.

I can quit but why is it so hard and difficult?! The craving and the urge ain't as strong as it was before but I still feel the need to smoke. My dad died of cancer due to being a heavy drinker and chain smoker and am I following his footsteps? Jeez! I can do it. Soon enough. But it's really really hard.

Life is Short. Have an Affair.... wtf?!!!

My mom was watching the Tyra Banks show a couple of days ago. This might be too late as I don't know how updated ETC is on the Tyra Show episodes. I wasn't paying much attention on the show when I heard that the topic is about a website that serves as a cheating site for married people who would like to have an affair. I thought it was ridiculous! How can someone, in the right state of mind, encourage and even help people cheat on their spouses! 2 clients showed their faces on national tv and even admitted on chating on their spouses. First woman, she admitted to her husband on tv that she has been cheating on him, with the help of the website. The poor man cried his heart out. And when he asked what he canm possibly do to make their marriage work, she gave selfish reasons, in my honest opinion. I lost track of how many times she used the word "I". They don't have sex as much as they did before but is that enough reason for one woman to cheat on her husband? What happened to respect? For the father of her kids, their kids, and to herself? Fine, sexual compatibility, I believe, is one big factor to have a successful marriage but why cheat? I don't think there will ever be a valid excuse to cheat. Nothing can ever justify such a mean act. And to see that man cry just broke my heart. I have been cheated on and I know how it feels. It sucks! Big time! The only two words I uttered upon seeing and hearing what she had to say was, "selfish b!t*h!". I may not really know the true story or what really transpired between those guests but her reasons are simply BS for me.

The second guest is another woman who claimed that the cheating website ruined her marriage but saved her life. And what shocked me the most is that she slept with 150 different men in a short span of 6 months!!! She is on her early 40's, fyi. She learned more about her sexual side but like that? C'mon! And the constant guy she has been seeing is also an attached man. When she told him the number of guys she had slept with, he said OMG then kissed her on tv because he was so turned on. And how the heck will the possibility of getting AIDS from sleeping with over a hundred men save your life? That is rubbish!

Why cheat when you can talk it over? Settle your differences. I'm no relationship expert but this is just so wrong. They do have divorce anyway so why hurt your spouse and children? What if one day, a man approaches one of the kids and say, "Hey there, I screwed your mom." Did those two women ever thought of that and how it could possibly affect their kids? And most of all, what kind of values does that man behind that darn website have? What was he thinking? He even said that he would talk to those clients and try to make sure that they know what they are about to get into. Still doesn't make it right. He is a millionaire because of his website but as to the kind of morals that man have beats the sh*t out of me.

Sorry for the rant. I just can't help it. By the way, the website I'm talking about is ashleymadison but it cannot be accessed outside of the United States, I think, so there's no point in linking it here.

something to think about...

It's been only 7 months since I started blogging, starting at Xanga and ending up blogging here in Blogspot, and now I can't think of anything else to blog about. I can't turn my thinking cap on. I'm running out of things to blog so I ended up blogging about food and cooking recently. I love make up but I am not as creative as other girls are in coming up with looks, so I ended up blogging about purchases and hauls. But I can't keep on doing that since lately, I am on a budget. I do not want to splurge on make up and skin care yet until my small business has been established or started or launched. I was exchanging emails with a Mineral Make up company in the US about me being an official distributor here in the Philippines. It is a good company. However, I am no longer using mmu which includes their products. And my thinking is like, how can I promote their products if I no longer use it? Of course, consumers will ask you stuff about one product or so and I cannot answer their queries very well since I do not patronize mmu anymore. I am blabbing and ranting again.

I cannot think of something worth blogging and reading. maybe I should turn my blog into a cooking or food blog. But I don't cook everyday. My recipes are not very original, usually just editing and revising some ingredients from a tested recipe. I have an original recipe, one, two, three. That's just it. Maybe this will work when I am already enrolled at a culinary school. Oh, I found a school that offers a 2-year course in culinary,. First OJT will be here in the Philippines, next OJT will be in Singapore. But I am broke! I need moolah!

Product Reviews...I am not really good at making reviews on products as I am most of the time biased. I have a hard time keeping an objective mind when it comes to products.

Or maybe...I should just leave this blog to die since I am out of creative juices.

Bummer!

I purchased a Pop Beauty Blush Cake in Pretty in Pink on eBay.com. However, it has been more than 2 weeks since it was shipped out via USPS and I still haven't received it. I would normally receive my orders in less than 2 weeks, thanks to my beloved Marikina City PO. I haven't waited this long for a package to arrive. And my packages get delivered right at my doorstep. No need to pick it up and no PO fee. No PO notice as well. I wonder what happened to my package. I am getting a little impatient because this is the longest I have to wait for just one package to arrive. I am so psyched because the blush looks so pretty. Lookie!

I can't wait to get my hands on it! I hope my package won't get lost and it arrives soon. >_< Read more...

mini soap haul + rant

I went out today and had late lunch at Charlie's with two friends. Of course, I had buffalo wings. We headed to MegaMall after we ate and we all went to different directions. I went to The Soap Factory to buy a soap and i got the Geisha soap (whitening + anti-aging). I got the big bar for only 99 bucks and had it cut in 4 cubes. I then searched for The Soap Opera and got the Small Wonder Soap which is really small. 30g for 75 bucks! I hope there won't be an adverse reaction from these soaps.

My mini soap haul.

There goes my mini soap haul. I am becoming a soapaholic.

Now, time to rant!

I just had a buyer from eBay who gave me such a headache! First, she bids on my items. Then after she won, I sent her the invoice. I then receive several Chikka messages (sorry, I hate Chikka) asking for my BPI account details when it was already stated on the listings that I only accept G-Cash payments for now. Then buyer asks how to pay via G-cash and if a new sim is needed. I didn't mean to sound like a snob but I simply told her to go to a Globe business center and ask for instructions and that the people there will help her but I told her that there is no need to have a Globe sim. Alright, so payment method has been settled. Then the following day which is a Sunday, I received the payment. So I told the buyer I will have it picked up by Air21 the following day. Monday came and I called Air21 to have it picked up. I was surprised that the buyer has already left me feedback even though I have not shipped the item yet. And I received a message from the buyer that she has already left me feedback and told me to leave her 2 feedback as well because she's just new and needs to accumulate feedback. I didn't like it. Plus the feedback left was "hassle-fri transaction. ang ebay pala di lang pangmayaman, pwede din pala sa poor". C'mon! Then I received another Chikka message in ALL CAPS asking about the tracking number. Told her I'll text her the tracking number once Air21 has picked it up. But no Air21 came so I wasn't able to ship it. I wasn't able to text her, my bad. Early this morning, I got a message from her through eBay telling me I did not text her the tracking number, asking if I did not ship it, that she has already paid so I should ship the item. C'mon! It's only been a day. And it's not like I am going to run away with her money, which, by the way, is 377 bucks. I told her I will go to Air21 and ship it personally and then I will text her the tracking number. And so I did. Even before she won, she kept on asking if I can end the listings for her. She even asked me if I can combine shipping because she is still a student. So I combined the shipping, which I normally do. She's the obnly buyer who I received several messages from, of course, the infamous psycho eBayer being an exception. She gave me a headache. I find her kind of demanding but in a subtle way. My rant ends here. At least I'm done with the transaction with her. Read more...

RANT! ELF Sunkissed Bronzer

I am really annoyed and sad because when I brought out my ELF Sunkissed Bronzer, I was surprised to see that it was broken into pieces! It was in my bag and i don't remember throwing my bag anywhere. I dunno how it could've possibly broke just like that. I've had it for like 2 days and a half and now it's a mess! T'was a disaster and a total waste of money even though it's just for PHP129 bucks. I haven't even used it when I went out! Bummer!

See what I mean? Argh!

Good news is I found a Covergirl Bronzer in Soleil on eBay and immediately clicked on the Buy It Now button. Been eyeing that for weeks now. And I now I had a good reason to buy it because I need a bronzer that isn't powdered. ^_^ Read more...

OMG! The weather has gone nuts!

I love the rainy season. I like cuddling up my pillow and staying under the sheets the whole day when it rains. I love the cold weather. But it's supposed to be summer right now! I don't like summer that much because of the scorching heat. But raining a lot during summer ain't right. It's gone crazy! If I heard the news right, it's the start of the rainy season. But it's only April-May! It's not supposed to start until June or July. Er, could it be true or it's just me that there's something wrong with the Earth now? Or at least with the weather here. I love the weather but it's freaking me out. Now if it starts to snow here, then there's something seriously wrong with the world. Read more...
