March Goodies

What nicer way could perk up a sick makeup lover like me than to receive goodies when you're stuck in bed, sneezing and coughing your heart out, looking like a red-nosed reindeer on a rainy day? That'd definitely perk and cheer me up. I was handed a few goodies that I got way back December last year from Apothica and the mailman also arrived to hand me something. I decided to just post almost all the goodies I have acquired for the whole month of March before the month ends in 2 days so you'll definitely see some products that have already been featured on previous posts. Goodies Goodies!

People come and go. And so does makeup. Since I am trying to curb my spending habits, I made a pact with myself that for each makeup (or two) that I buy, I have to let go of something from my stash, to somehow feel less guilty about buying. One replaces the other - that will be the cycle unless I really like something and decide it's a keeper that I won't let go of. I've always featured cosmetic and beauty-related hauls ever since I started blogging. But this one's different. First thing is that I never actually did any holiday shopping - no trips to Rustan's the drove me crazy and left my wallet bleeding. I haven't been buying a lot of cosmetics lately. A Pre-Halloween Story

Halloween is almost here, everyone! I hope you're all doing great. It has been a week since I've last made a post. Anyway, as the title suggests, I will be telling a story, or maybe two, that I experienced just this week. But before I do, I'd like to share the makeup I did on one of the participants for our group's Halloween presentation at work. That was the first time I did such makeup on someone so please bear with my being a newbie.

Ate M played the role of a mother whose very own child killed her by burning her alive, thus, the makeup. She won the best in costume and makeup for women! And the guy who played the role of her husband, whose makeup I also did with stitches and all, also won the same category for men. Yey!

Practicing on myself. I got one of the committee members fooled for thinking this was real. Said she had goosebumps when she saw my hand and kept asking what happened to me.

This, on the other hand, looked so fake but I still managed to fool a couple more to think that this was real. XD

Anyway, on to the stories.

The first one happened last Thursday night while we were rehearsing for the first and last time for our presentation. The story is about a girl who played with the Ouija board but I won't tell the rest of the story. Anyway, part of the story was calling on to spirits on a makeshift Ouija board. Although I was getting uncomfortable about it (even though I wrote the story and the script), we went on with the scene. Then a maintenance man (who was part of our group since their department is also under the HR) suddenly told me that there are a few spirits walking towards us. I remember someone telling me that that man's third eye is open. I shrugged it off at first until I felt something cold on my shoulders and my head started getting numb. I moved away and sat somewhere else. As Mang L and I were talking about it, I felt something really cold that I shivered for a while as I was having goosebumps. He then told me that there is a little boy.

Fast forward to us being taken home by the company driver. I felt weird and uneasy the whole time which was kinda strange. The maintenance man was at the back of the van and he suddenly transferred beside me and sort of tried to amuse me and made me laugh. When I was finally home, I went straight to the rest room but I got out as fast as I can for some reason. Before that, I was limping because my foot is injured and bandaged but I totally ignored the pain and moved really quick.

I went to my room and my mom was there playing on my laptop and we were talking about random stuff when my aunt knocked and went inside, almost in tears. When asked why, she started telling us that there are a lot of "people" walking around in her room and one was even touching her and caressing her arm. She already had a lot of encounters with spirits before but she said that was the first time she ever felt that scared. So she asked if she can sleep in my room (which my mom also did) and I decided to get the slanted chair in her room so she can sleep on it. The lights were off and I couldn't go inside so I just slowly reached for the light switch and switched it on. That room has never felt so creepy before. My mom didn't want me to go in alone so she decided to go with me. I felt my hair raising, goosebumps all over me. Same thing happened to my mom. It felt unusually cold in that room. When we were back in my room, my aunt told me that the only time she felt the spirits was when she heard me going up the stairs. Then we slept.

The following day, I was at work and I told Mang L, the man from the night before, about it, he only said "Sabi ko na nga ba eh" (I knew it). He knew that a few spirits came with me on our house. Anyway, we rehearsed at 6pm on the stage after work. The same thing happened, calling on the spirits on the Ouija board and the same eerie feeling was once again there. I went to the bathroom alone and as I was zipping my pants, a female voice whispered something in my ear, which once again made me walk fast, ignoring my injury again and told Mang L about it. He just said that it's one of those that came the night before.

When I had to do their makeup, I had to wash my hands every once in a while and each time I went to the bathroom, I keep glancing on the mirror because it felt like someone was there, watching me. I shrugged it off again. When everyone was gone, Mang L remained sitting on a chair. I asked why he doesn't want to leave me alone and he simply smiled. I then asked if someone was following me around, and he said yes. I asked if it was a man, and he agreed again. When I asked if that man wanted to harm me, he said no. He said that man was just amused with me so he decided to follow me around.

After our presentation, I was sitting on a chair while watching other groups present when I once again had goosebumps and the numb feeling on my head. After about half an hour, Mang L told me that the man was gone and it was now an old man who stood behind me but he eventually went away. Good thing is I went home without any companions. :D

Anyway, I hope there won't be any more "stories" after these two for now as I don't think I can manage to walk as fast as I did before. :D

Hola! I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend. Mine was still pretty busy because I was working earlier today and this week has been stressful. Stressful is the understatement of the year! Recent Cosmetics Purchases + Goodies

Hi again! Another very quick post. Thought I'd just share the stuff I purchased for the past couple of weeks. Though these aren't a lot, I think I'd go on a shopping ban. I may not have bought a lot of makeup but I have purchased mostly skin care, laptop accessories, books, shoes, a few novelty stuff, cosmetic bottles from Beabi, and a really neat necklace too. Didn't take pictures of everything but I'm sharing the makeup items I got and a few others too.

For makeup - Becca Mineral Powder Foundation, Bourjois Blush in 54 Rose Frisson, Benefit Posietint 4mL, Benefit Coralista mini 3g (I miss the Coralista I sold, must be seller's remorse), Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer (which I love!), ELF Eyebrow Treat & Tame in Ash, ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer (since my friend got my UDPP and I couldn't say no), and Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cherry. Everything was purchased online except for Vaseline.

The "vintage" necklace I got from eBay for 120 bucks (a little less than $3)

And lotsa samples from my exchange gift with Sugarpaopao. Oh, thanks to her for also introducing me to...

Happy Lemon!!! Love the Cocoa with Rock Salt and Cheese, thanks for the reco. :) Sucks that I wasn't able to meet you on the iWhite event and Happy Lemon session with the other girls.

Oh, I also finally had the time to drop by the PO and claim the package/sample sent by Maggie from kkcenterhk. Hopefully, I can do a review soon. I don't have an eyelash glue yet. :P

Makeup Goodies.. yet again. :D TBO Lux Asia Sale, etc.

Went to the The Big Outlet Sale (Lux Asia) this morning with Tish and bumped into Bec at the Guerlain stall. There weren't much brands to choose from and only saw Guerlain, Shiseido, Max Factor, Covergirl, and a stall selling palettes reminiscent of Coastal Scents. No Kanebo. Boo! And since I set a budget of Php 1500 for myself, I am happy that I didn't reach it and only got two items. It's a good and bad thing that Kanebo wasn't there. Good that I spent less than 1.5k and bad because I was looking forward to buying lippies from them. Anyway, here's what I got.

Guerlain Ombre Eclat 1 Couleur (single eyeshadow) in 140 L'instant Precieux and Guerlain Kiss Kiss Stick Gloss in 902 Corail  Des Mers (The scent again! I just remembered how much I hated the scent when I tried it on but I'm hoping I can get over it because I love how a pretty coral pink shade it is.) The gold Guerlain clutch is the freebie the Guerlain SA or otherwise known as Ate FF (feyl fink) saved for me since January. Went to EDSA Shang with Tish after going to the Lux Asia sale and that's how I got it.

And lastly, the sweet and lovely blogger Chantzy sent me some NYC tinted lip balms last January. It took over a month (which is a first for me) before I received it that we thought the package was already lost. She also included some L'Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle Makeup which reminded me of the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Makeup. I already opened the one in the middle and I like it a lot! Review soon. Thanks again, J, for the lovely goodies. :)

I'm glad to say that I have controlled my spending habits and didn't go gaga like I did during the holidays. It's kinda weird but I think I have lost my appetite when it comes to makeup. I no longer get thrilled when I see makeup counters. Maybe I had too much before. Haha!

~*~*~* Guerlain Love! *~*~*~

If there's one thing I find hard to resist, it's luxurious and gorgeous packaging. It's the craftsmanship and the effort a company has put in to make their products more appealing and makes all the money worth it. Don't you just hate paying for something that isn't really cheap at all yet the packaging is really tacky? Yes, Shu Uemura and NARS, I'm talking to both of you! NARS, your rubber casing attracts a lot of dirt and gets sticky and eeewie overtime. Shu, your blush compacts - the clear ones - are so flimsy and how they break on their own beats me! Guerlain, on the other hand, did not disappoint me at all. :)

The indescribably drop-dead gorgeous blush! I don't know how I would be able to use such lovely creature, erm, blush. I like how luxurious and immaculate it looks. Gold metal casing that will make you feel like you're part of the British monarchy and should be living in Buckingham Palace. Haha!

Guerlain Blush 4 Eclat in 05 Rose Plein Vent

The Kiss Kiss Baby Nourishing Lip Balm has this silver packaging that is less luxurious than the blush but still "royal" and vintage.

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Baby in 262 Cherry Summer (Also smells luxurious but my nose hates such scents. Maybe I'm not born to be royal after all. If being associated with such scent is what it means to be royal, then I'd rather be a peasant. Haha!)

Anyway, I got both on sale at Rustan's. All Guerlain products are on 20% off so drag yourself to Guerlain counters at Rustan's while you still can! I got the blush for only Php1960 from Php2450 and the lippy for only Php1344 from Php1680. Good deal, right? I was al;so told that if I get another lippy, they'll slash 50% off from that particular lippy but I chose not to get another one. I'm trying to be a good girl. :)

Anyway, I should probably house arrest myself so I will just stay home and not buy anything at all.

"Ooops! I did it again!" - that's exactly what I've been singing for the past couple of hours. Yeah, I dropped by the mall again earlier today on my way to the hospital. I really should never be allowed to go anywhere near a mall, specifically EDSA Shang as I think you already know by now what will happen next. I dunno what's happening to my control over my spending habits. Do I hear anyone say "rehab"? Or am I just imaging that word glaring at me somewhere inside this room? Anyway, here's my first mini haul for 2011.

Dior Addict High Color in 432 Rose Orgasme (Joy Pink). Now who said only NARS has Orgasm? :P

Christian Dior Diorblush in 533 Passion Fruit. I want the Strawberry Sorbet one again! I passed on it earlier because this caught my eye.

NARS Laguna Bronzer - I finally have a decent bronzer! :P

 
Kanebo Coffret D'or Blush in PK-222 (Not on the picture because I originally bought this on the 31st but I dunno where else to include this and that was almost NY so I guess this is alright.)
