Product Review: CHANEL Blushes

I've had these blushes for almost a week now and boy am I in love with them! :) I've been using them for the past couple of days so I thought I should share with you guys what I think of these Chanel blushes. :)

Let's start with the reviews.

Chanel Joues Contraste in Tea Rose

Unique powder blusher imparts a flattering radiance to cheeks. Remarkably silky texture for easy application and subtle shading. Accentuate cheekbones for a youthful look. Softer tones around the eyes soften expression and rejuvenate.

(Product description taken from the website)

Pros:
- Very pretty light pink/rose shade with this sort of sheen that won't make it look flat on your cheeks.
- Texture is really silky and very finely milled.
- Feels very light on the skin.
- Goes on very sheer and might take a few swipes to show up on some skin tones (It takes 2-4 swipes for it to show on me and I am NC30 for reference).
- Locally available at Rustan's (but they don't stock up that much).
- Buildable colour.
- Easy to blend.
- Lasting power's pretty decent.

Cons:
- I find it a little powdery.
- I don't find it that pigmented at all.
- Pricey for a blush (SRP 2350) with 4g of product.
- Scented but eventually fades after a few minutes (this may be a pro to some but I prefer unscented products over scented ones).

Will I buy again? Yes but not this shade. I'd probably go for a different color.

Overall rating: 4/5

Chanel Irreelle Blush in In Love
A very pretty coral pink shade that received mostly positive reviews at MakeUpAlley. Some even described it as NARS Orgasm without the shimmer. But I don't think so. It is uniquely beautiful in its own way. :)

Pros:
- Pigmented, a little goes a long way. (Easily shows up on me)
- Staying power is good.
- Texture is silky and finely milled as well.
- Unscented.
- Not shimmery at all.
- Feels light on the skin.
- Buildable.
- Easy to blend.
- Locally available at Rustan's (but just like what I mentioned earlier, they don't stock up much on Chanel products)

Cons:
- Has very little sparkles but they are gone in a few seconds.
- Needs a light hand in applying.
- C'est si cher! Too expensive for a blush at 2.5k for 6.5g of product.

Will I buy again? YES! But I think it will take me years to finish one compact. :) And I couldn't find Irreelle on the Chanel website so I am assuming this might be discontinued. But JC has this shade so I am not too worried. :P

Overall rating: 4.75/5. I would've given it a 5 if not for the hefty price tag. :) I am definitely in love with this In Love blush! :P

Ta! :P

  11. thanks for the review!

I've always wondered whether chanel blushes are good or not, as they sure do look pretty! I'm so used to the Nars ones now, that I'm not so eager to try others.... maybe I should try a chanel blush someday!

    *loves*

  12. Toothfairynotes, go try Chanel. I actually find it similar to NARS without the shimmer but with the scent. :)
