Despite being sick last week, I went to the mall thinking that a new environment can help make me feel better. Well, it did help a bit but my wallet didn't feel any better. Anyway, I spotted the Majolica Majorca counter in SM Cubao when I passed by since I was headed to Gateway Mall and I was actually thrilled to see it. I have never gone to any of their counters because they are far from where I live and I felt like a kid seeing lotsa toys for the first time, perhaps due to the really cute packaging Majo Majo's products have. I wanted to try the foundation (since I thought it might fit in my Shiseido Sheer Mattifying Compact compact) and the pressed powder but I had to stop myself because... just because. I didn't feel like buying a lot but I just couldn't go home empty-handed from that brand so I chose this lip gloss. I am not too keen on lip glosses because of the sticky feeling, blame it on MAC, but thanks to some sort of divine intervention, I picked this one up. On to the review, gotta stop blabbing.
As usual, the fancy packaging made me feel all girly and happy. Plus the color on the tube looks like a shade I would adore. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that the tube is just about the size of MAC lip glasses. It is a very pretty peach-pink shade or a medium pink shade that isn't too pigmented. It smells nice though somewhat artificial. It has a slanted doe-foot applicator which, I think, can easily get in the corners of the mouth. I have never used the applicator anyway so please don't quote me on that.
I swatched it at the back of my hand using a lip brush and feeling artsy fartsy that day, I formed a heart. The color is really pretty but there was something on the swatch that worried me. I saw glitters!!! Still, I applied some on my lips and I knew right away that I will never touch this gloss again. It felt gritty and a bit rough on my lips. It's not super sticky, which is good news, but I could not take the grittiness of it. It also made my lips feel itchy, perhaps due to the glitters. :(
In as much as I find the color selection of their Rouge Magiex pretty, I don't think I would ever dare touch one again and I have never used this again since the day I bought it. I feel like I wasted a good Php 495 for this one. But to those of you who love lip glosses and do not mind glitters at all, you may want to check this out. This all boils down to personal preferences so I cannot really rate this product as bad simply because I hated the glitters. Oh, this also does not stay true to its color on the tube as this goes on sheerer than it really is. Those who want pigmented lip glosses may also not totally like this. :-\

Have you tried these glosses from Majolica Majorca? :)
P.S.
I have based this review on just the one time I tried it, thus, the title.
Happy Thursday, super awesome peeps! :P
aww i am loving it and it looks beautiful on your lips... send me if you dont want this :) lol
ReplyDeletede-jeeya.blogspot.com
It looks soo pretty on you!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteJeeya, haha! Glad you're loving it. :P
ReplyDeleteMichelle, it is pretty but it just damn feels gritty! :(
nakakadisappoint why some brands use "rough" glitter for lip products, i also dont like LGs that are gritty, nacoconscious ako coz it feels like sand/dirt got trapped in my lippie. Such a nice color, sayang lang coz fail sya sa texture. :(
ReplyDeleteJap, exactly! You nailed it with the sand/dirt trapped description.
ReplyDeletesorry this didn't work for you pammy. :( i remember your tweets about it. :/
ReplyDeleteSugarpao, yeah. Such a shame since it's really pretty. But I remember you like it. :P
ReplyDeleteI'm imagining it as being lip scrub-ish. Hehe. Me no likey glitters on my lips very much too :/
ReplyDelete@AyaIt's pretty much like that. If I want rough lips, I wouldn't exfoliate or drink too much water instead. Hehe. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks good on you pa naman. Too bad! Happy Thursday/Friday :P Pammy!
ReplyDelete@Madz
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's just so sad. Happy Thursday/Friday too! :P
haha yes i do like it! i was testing out for the glitter chunks because i hardly noticed it but i guess i need to test it a bit more. :) maybe you're sensitive to shimmers and i'm just a sucker for all things that are bright and shimmery. :p
ReplyDeletewith that said, i hope you and sloth break up after today LOL! :p
You are right about the pigmentation, of I want more color, I would use a darker lipstick underneath and top it with this gloss :)
ReplyDelete@sugar sugar
ReplyDeleteSloth and I broke up na. Init a eh. :P
@Askmewhats
ReplyDeleteI'll try that. If I decide to use this gloss again. Haha! :P
aww, too bad pammy. it looks good in the pic, though. ^_^ i love the color, but chunky glitters bother me too. maybe they have a kind without them? thanks for the review!
ReplyDelete@Jackie
ReplyDeleteMaybe the honey pump glosses (in tubes) do not have glitters? I'm not too sure but I swear I'm not going anywhere near MM's lip glosses again. :P
hehe.. I know the feeling of wearing a gritty lip gloss.. parang nadapa ka lang sa buhangin habang naglalakad sa beach. :)
ReplyDeletebut the shade's really pretty pa naman..
@Karla Michelle
ReplyDeleteSakli!! Natawa naman ako sa description mo. :P
Too bad this is gritty, I hate that too. that's why I always go for non-shimmery or non-glittery glosses. pretty pa naman sana yong shade.
ReplyDelete@Hollie
ReplyDeleteTrue!!! That's why I'd rather use tinted lip balms. :P
it's a really nice pinky soft shade. MM is such love ☺♥
ReplyDeletelove the color too, but same here i hate sticky or gritty glosses!!! :p i usually just stick with a lipstick alone or a lipbalm too. pero meron din akong mac lipgloss pero cremesheen, the non sticky ones.
ReplyDeleteThat's so pretty! I love the color. Great blog. Now following. It'd be great if we could follow each other.

That looks really pretty! I hear a lot of hype about their mascara though! :)
ReplyDelete@Marge
ReplyDeleteReally pretty shade. I just badly wish it isn't gritty though. :)
@Donna
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried cremesheens. If they are non-sticky, I'll check them out one of these days. :)
@D.Sadie
ReplyDeleteThank you, will check it out. :)
@Sloperation
ReplyDeleteYeah, that is something I am planning to try soon. I'm just waiting for my mascaras to expire. Haha! :)
