WARNING: Picture Heavy (as always)
Here is my latest blush purchase --- Milani Luminous. Been wanting to have one for months now so I was really excited when I scored one on eBay. I got it for PHP145 (a little less than $3) which is really cheap. I should've gotten another one because it turns out to be really small but when I checked it out the following morning, all the three remaining Milani Luminous have already been purchased. So sad. -_-
Anyway, I received it today, I don't know which time of the day, but I woke up this afternoon with the package on the table.
Milani Luminous is said to be a good dupe for NARS Orgasm and received a lot of raves at MakeUpAlley. It is a pretty pink slightly peach blush in my eyes. It doesn't look anywhere near NARS Orgasm on the pan. And when I swatched it, it's not even close to Orgasm. Well, both are shimmery but pigmentation-wise and color-wise, both are really different when I swatched them. But when I applied Luminous on my cheeks, I must admit it looks so similar to NARS Orgasm. It has this certain luminousity to it and it looks really pretty. It looks like The Body Shop Golden Pink blush.
I am pleased with my purchase. The blush is pretty. Now I am lemming for Milani Mango Tango and Milani Mai Tai and more Milani blushes. :P
====================================================================
Okay, last night, I was watching DIY Lip Balms/Lip Gloss videos on YouTube while at work. Hehe. So when I got home this morning, I decided to do my Homemade Tinted Lip Balm
These are what I needed:
- a candle
- a lighter (not on the picture)
- petroleum jelly
- mineral pigments
- a clean spoon
- a spatula (in my case, I used a brand new pusher)
- pots
Step 1: Light the candle.
Step 2: Scoop an ample amount of petroleum jelly.
Step 3: Put the petroleum jelly on the spoon.
Step 4: Heat and melt the petroleum jelly by putting the spoon right above the fire/candle. Keep on stirring until the petroleum jelly is in liquid form.
Step 5: Add the pigment.
Step 6: Keep on stirring until the pigment is dissolved in the petroleum jelly.
Step 7: Pour the gloss into the pot.
Step 8: Put the pots in the fridge and let it stay for 40 minutes to an hour.
The finished product.
Luminee on my lips. (nude peach)
Since I no longer use mineral make up, this is one way to put them to use. I can make lip balms or lip gloss out of the mineral blushes and eyeshadows. I don't know if it's edible but since it is safe to use for the eyes and most of the mineral pigments are multi-purpose, I guess it is then safe to use for lip balm. :)
Go ahead and try it. Its fun. And you can mix your own colors. :P

ReplyDeletemy sister also made homemade lipbalm before and gave me a pot. i think she did the same thing as you ^^
Yes, Jackie, it is cute. :P
ReplyDeleteYou can try doing that. I am actually making more when I get home. The ones I made yesterday are now with my officemates. :D
You can also use clear lip gloss instead of petrolium jelly, this will make it flavered and shinier on your lips. And if you want to melt it quicklier you can use a blow-dryer. I'm actualy 11 years old and I love making lip gloss!
